Ready, Set, Run!

Cory and I decided to run the Great Aloha Run again this year.  Cory's been running it with his dad since he was little, but last year I got dragged into the tradition too.  Don't get me wrong, running is great...but 8 miles is A LOT!  I actually had fun and felt really accomplished after last years race, so I told myself I was going to train for this year.  Yeah...that didn't happen.  I didn't run once before the race and I knew I would pay for it, and trust me...I did.
Crossing the finish line...we did it!!!  And I think my smile shows how happy I was to know it was all over!
Melissa and I had to get a "before" picture so that we would look decent in at least one pic!

Finishers!!!!

It was a long, hard, hot 8 miles but we did it.  And I'm so proud of us.  And I'm also glad I have the best husband in the world who stayed with me the whole time even though I held him back.  And of course...I set the same goal for myself, but this time I am going to really try extra hard to keep that goal and be ready for next years race!  We'll see how that goes :)

V-Day

I've always loved Valentine's Day.  Not because of the romantic lovey-dovey side of things, but just because it gives you another excuse to celebrate something.  Plus... I can eat a whole bunch of sweets without feeling totally guilty, chocolate-covered strawberries are a must, the stores are filled with lots of cute decorations, and everyone's just a little nicer maybe because they've been hit by the love bug.  My husband is really good at making Valentine's Day happen and here's just a little bit of how our night went.  We actually didn't plan anything for Valentine's Day since it was on a Monday and were both so busy with school and work, so I was really surprised Cory threw all of this together!

Cory lit some candles and hung streamers in our bathroom.  I got to enjoy a nice bubble bath while I ate my pupu's and while Cory cooked dinner.

I'm so glad my husband knows what kind of food I like!

I made these, because like I said...they are a must on v-day!

We had furikake salmon and mashed potatoes for dinner and cinnamon roles for dessert.  It was definitely a Valentines to remember and love was in the air.  I think sometimes I need to remember that Valentines isn't the only day I should be "feelin' the love", especially with my husband.  Maybe...just maybe I'll go out of my way to something special for my husband for no reason at all!

Let's begin at the beginning...

I am very new to the blogging world.  It's just something I've never taken up.  But now that I'm married (and mormon, hehe), I feel like it's a part of my duty to create a blog and share my thoughts with the world.  Ok, maybe not the world, but at least with the few people who care enough about my life to read my blog.  At first, I was kind of skeptical about this blogging thing and I wasn't really sure if I wanted to do it.  But after I actually created my blog, I got really excited about this whole thing.  I guess because writing is something I've always enjoyed and this will give me a chance to just write.  I also realized I really like reading other peoples blogs, so maybe others will enjoy reading mine!

So I didn't really know where to start, but I guess the beginning is a good place.  And by the beginning, I mean the beginning of my husband and I.  We were sealed for time and all eternity on December, 11 2010.  Even though the day was hectic and I forgot a lot of things and was late to more than one place, everything turned out perfect.  It was a beautiful day and probably the happiest of both our lives.

Cory's cousin, Leroy, was our photographer.  He took some AMAZING pictures that Cory and I fell in love with.
Of course we have the coming out of the temple pic

We took A LOT of pictures that day, most of them with all the family and friends that were there, so here's one with everyone in it.

It took a while to get this one right.

I thought this was sooo neat!  You can see our reflections in Cory's ring.

I loved my shoes.  They were actually the first thing I bought for the wedding.

This has to be one of our favorite wedding pictures.

Some pictures from Maui will be coming soon!
