Easter

Cory and I got to go home to Maui to spend Easter with my family.  It was the first time we'd been home in a while so we were really excited.  We had a lot of fun and ate tons of food.  I didn't take my camera which turned out to be a huge mistake because there were so many good picture opps.  Its a good thing my aunty was camera ready, so I stole some of her pics :)  On Friday, we went to Waihe'e Beach and had a little easter pic with family and friends.

We had a huge easter egg hunt for all the kids.  They had a blast running all over the place looking for eggs filled with candy.  I jumped in and stole some candy too.

On Easter Sunday, we all went up to Aunty Lala's house for lunch.  The food was sooo 'ono and the kids got to look for easter eggs again.  We also had a family home evening lesson and we were all reminded of the reason for easter.  (Since we all know it's not really about the easter eggs and yummy candy!)

All the kids playing catch with Cory.  It's a good thing he's a kid at heart and loves playing games.

There they go...looking for more eggs!

We're so blessed to have so much family and friends to spend these special holidays with.  It was such a fun weekend at home and I can't wait to go again.  Cory got some really good footage of the easter egg hunts, so look forward to that video in the next post :)

Homemade Bread

Yesterday after church, Cory and I decided to make some homemade bread.  We'd both never done it before, so we thought it would be fun to try it out.  Cory was really excited as you can see.

Let me tell you, kneading bread is not as easy as it looks.  I think I gained some muscle from this.

After a lot of kneading and rising, the bread was finally ready to go in the oven.  It already smelt so good, I was tempted to eat it raw.  But I resisted.

40 minutes later...our first loaf of bread was pau! Our little apartment smelt like heaven.

As soon as it came out, Cory cut a few slices, buttered them up, and drizzled a little bit of honey on it.  YUM :)

All I can say is...nothing beats homemade bread.  I don't know if I'll ever be able to eat store bought bread again.  Actually, I probably will.  I don't have time to be making bread all the time.  But it definitely won't be as satisfying.  And who knows...maybe I'll start saving up for a bread machine.
