Gyu-Kaku

Sometimes, being stuck in La'ie for a long period of time makes you go nuts.  Especially when the weather is bi-polar...pouring rain one minute and the next thing you know, the sun is blazing hot.  Let me tell you, it really starts to mess with you and make you go nuts!  It got to me and I was starting to go crazy, so Cory and I decided to get out of La'ie and go on a date.  We went to Windward Mall, which by the way is probably my favorite mall on O'ahu.  Yeah, I know the other malls are so much bigger and better blah, blah...but I like the smallness of Windward Mall.  I think it's because it reminds me of Maui :)  Anyways, a new restaurant called Gyu-Kaku just opened so we decided to check it out.  And let me tell you, I'm glad we did.  The food was so 'ono!!!  It's yakiniku style so they bring you the raw meats and veggies and you cook it yourself on a little grill thing that looks like this.

Cory really liked the food too.  He also really enjoyed the fact that he could cook it himself.  He just started throwing everything on as soon as it came.  I told him to slow down and replied saying "I'm a grilla!"  So I decided to just let him do his thing :)  We loved the food, the service was really good, and they have s'mores for dessert!!!  We can't wait to eat there again!

Maui Weekend

Wow...it's been a while since I've blogged!  But I finally have something to blog about!  Cory and I got to go to Maui this past weekend for a little get away.  It was a long weekend and my home ward had their ward camp so it was perfect!  Like seriously...perfect.  Food, swimming, sleeping under the stars, smores, family...it really doesn't get better than that!  We both LOVE camping so we were both really anxious the whole week before.  As you can see, all the kiddos really love camping too.

Even this big kid had a blast.  Cory had a nice long relaxing weekend away from work.  He was definitely a happy camper.

After 3 fun days of camping, it was time to pack up and go home.

My little brother had his last soccer game on Saturday, so we got to watch that too.  He's super athletic and picks any sport up really quickly.  It's pretty funny watching six little boys run around the field kicking a ball around and knocking each other down.

He even got a medal, which he was pretty proud of.

It was a super fun, relaxing weekend.  We had so much fun we didn't want to come back, but the real world was calling.  We already can't wait for our next camping trip!!!
