Working Woman

That's right...this woman is working!  Full-time!  It's not my ideal elementary teacher job, but it is a teaching job.  Instead of elementary kids, I work with little ones...really little ones!  I work at KinderCare which is sort of like a pre-school/day care center.  They take babies from six weeks old until kindergarten age students.  There's about 9 different classrooms and the kids are separated by age.  My first day was last Friday so this past week was my first full week.  It's very different than what I'm used to, but I'm liking it so far.  I've been working mostly in the pre-school classroom and I've had a couple days with the little babies.  My days are full of crying, biting, tatle-tailing, hugging, glurch, dinosaurs, glitter, glue, cleaning up messes, paint, diaper changing, runny noses, hungry kids, and so much more.  Let me tell you, I am definitely beat at the end of the day!   I was kind of nervous when I first started because I have no training in being a pre-school teacher or anything but it's not too bad.  My co-workers have been really helpful and I'm so glad I have a huge family with a lot kids because I would be freaking out if I hadn't been exposed to runny noses, poopy diapers, and biting children all my life!  Like I said, this is very different from what I'm used to and what I want to do, but for now this is paying the bills so this is where I need to be.  So for now, I'm going to put all I've got into this job and learning how to be the best pre-school teacher/care taker I can be :)
